Assorted collection of early and mid-20th C. Native American Sterling Silver Turquoise Belt Buckles, Squash Blossoms, Bracelets, Rings and Belts. Many of the Native American Sterling Silver pieces are signed and possess rare, hard to find, beautiful Turquoise. A majority of the Native American Sterling collection being sold was recently on loan to a New York museum for a year-long Native American History show. The collection is comprised of approximately 60 pieces in total.Native Americans began making Sterling Silver jewelry in the mid-19th C. using primarily silver coins traded with English, French and American Trappers. The process began with a handful of Native American learning the art of metal working from Mexican silversmiths. Some of these pieces were considered family treasures to be passed through the generations, while others were made to be sold or traded. As years passed, all types of Native American Sterling Silver jewelry pieces found their way in to the marketplace.
